Pre-Snaffle Headstall

Distributes pressure evenly between horse's nose and mouth

Combine the best of both worlds with this hackamore-and-snaffle-bridle combination! The Horse Education Company Pre-Snaffle Headstall introduces a small amount of pressure in the mouth while the majority of pressure is taken by the nose, allowing the rider to gently introduce communication with the bit, which assists your young horse in learning how to be light and calm in your hands.

Additionally, this versatile headstall works as a fantastic tool for older horses, particularly when teaching them new maneuvers that occasionally result in confusion or concern. It is also quite effective for inexperienced riders who want to be fair to their horses as they improve their own feel and skill.

Just add reins and you’re ready to ride!

"One of the most important things to me is to keep things simple for my horse so he can learn faster and more efficiently. Instead of jumping from nothing in my young or inexperienced horse's mouth, straight to a bit, I like to have an in between step that keeps most the pressure still on the nose, while introducing a small amount in to his mouth, getting him used to the movement and a little feel of pressure. Also if he panics or needs a correction, I don't worry so much about pulling straight on his mouth, because I have the rope over the nose to do most of the work. This is also a great tool for an advanced horse with a good mouth and good responses, being ridden by an unseasoned rider with inconsistent hands." ~ Kalley Krickeberg, Horse Education Company brand ambassador
